Belén López de Carlo was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1991, where she currently lives and works. She has a degree in Visual Arts from the University of the Argentine Social Museum. She trained as a Scenographic Director at the Higher Institute of Art of the Colón Theater. She participated in the Artists Program of the Hunters Foundation and in PAC Project of the Gachi Prieto Gallery. She attended the Blasón Artists Program and “El primer viernes de cada mes”, both coordinated by Verónica Gómez. Among her latest distinctions, the Special Mention of the MACSur Prize for Visual Arts (Buenos Aires, 2023)and her selection for the Bancor Painting Prize (Córdoba, 2023). Her solo exhibitions include “Una promesa incumplida” with a text by the argentinian artist Nahuel Vecino (Praxis Gallery, Buenos Aires, 2024). She participated in the group exhibitions “Misshapes” (Praxis Gallery, NY, 2024), “Pop-up de verano” (Gachi Prieto Gallery, Buenos Aires, 2023), “Atravesar el espejo” (Praxis Gallery, Buenos Aires, 2023), “Lo que importa es la piel” curated by Vic Tolomei (Praxis Gallery, Buenos Aires, 2022), “ZoomOut” (Gachi Prieto Gallery, Buenos Aires, 2021), among others. Her work belongs to private collections.
